Can I just say, Hawaii Five-0 has built-in mood whiplash.

So you have your opening sequence, which usually has murder, mayhem, angst, despair, all that jazz. Whatever.

Then you have about the perkiest title sequence in the history of ever.

Fortunately, I mostly find it hilarious. ;)

I got nothing against police procedurals. I even would go so far as to say that I like 'em. However, there's fifty zillion of them on tv, so if you don't grab me by the first regular episode I won't bother.

Hawaii Five-0 never particularly interested me because it didn't seem to have a 'hook'; but I have now discovered the hook.

They took Wormhole X-Treme and the second-season finale of Moonlighting and carried them through to the logical next step!

I THINK THE META ACTUALLY MELTED MY FACE A LITTLE.

Holy cow I love this show! It's like an A-Team/Ocean's 11 fusion, that transports its stories on the back of the fun train and doesn't tiptoe around the fact that, yeah, Nate is the dad and Sophie is the mom and the other three are the kids.

So, I have lately been watching Korean television dramas. They range from romcoms to the most outrageous of melodramas, and there's a good-hearted ridiculousness to them that warms the cockles of my heart. Generally they are 16-25 episodes long, and are arced like a miniseries.
